Medical Acupuncture

Western medical acupuncture uses current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, and the principles of evidence based medicine and is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal pain, including myofascial trigger point pain.

The principle behind western medical acupuncture is that it stimulates the nervous system, and its known modes of action include local antidromic axon reflexes, segmental and extrasegmental neuromodulation, and other central nervous system effects.

I incorporate medical acupuncture with clinical massage in an hour long session. It can also be booked as a standalone treatment.
